I felt so many emotions when I saw these beautiful @benandjoflowerco Mother’s Day flowers on my doorstep from @sarahkshook and gift from @chelseaireneee. I still don’t even really know how to describe what I’m feeling. Grateful, honored, celebrated, and especially seen. My heart longs to be a mother. (And I know so many of you are in a similar boat, just based on how many texted and messaged me after my first infertility post but also because 1 of 8 women are affected by infertility). I think it’s a great thing to celebrate your heart’s longing, even when the longing is unmet and you feel undeserving. It’s even better when friends and family see and recognize it. And most importantly, God who has placed that longing within you sees you and is planning great things for you. Your love for your future child is a powerful thing ✨ It‘s how you’re able to continue through the waiting, injections, endless appointments, blood draws, empty rooms, tracking, and medications, all before you even hear their heartbeat. This is not a post I ever thought I’d be writing, but Dill and I believe in the power of prayer and using our story to help others and glorify God and after keeping this journey to ourselves, we finally feel at peace to share. Dill and I are currently in our third year of trying for and praying for a baby. Long enough to have birthdays and holidays pass and then pass again. Long enough for job changes and a move. Long enough for other families to welcome multiple babies into their homes, still without a baby in our arms. Don’t get me wrong, we love celebrating our friends’ babies. How could we not? They are literally perfect. But this season has been hard. I could go into all the reasons why we didn’t share this journey sooner but this season has reminded us that you never really know how you’d deal with something until you’re in the situation. We’re still not pregnant but we are confident that God hears our prayers, knows our hearts desires, and isn’t withholding anything good from us. We’re walking through this season of simultaneously grieving and boldly believing God for good things and trusting He sees us. If you know me, you know I don’t go into anything without researching everything beforehand. So, while we’re not currently looking for fertility advice, we would love your bold prayers. With three failed fertility procedures this year, we’re asking God for a miracle. This rainbow banner gifted by a sweet friend and has been a symbol of what we’ve held on to during this time - God’s promises and faithfulness. There are couples who have waited much longer than us for their baby and are in the middle of fertility treatments that are exhausting emotionally, physically, and financially. And unfortunately, are often being misunderstood or judged for these treatments, which only adds to the feeling of isolation. The enemy wants you to believe you are alone. You may not be ready to share your journey but God has not forgotten you. He sees you. I’m praying for you. While you wait for your baby, I’ll offer the wise words from a friend “Trust that you are a mother. The mere desire makes you one.” #infertility #infertilityawareness #dimmittbabyjourney
